Historial ROTHCO SPORTS

• Early 1900’s
Nathan Rothenberg arrives from Eastern Europe and founded N. Rothenberg & Son in New York City.

• 1930
Morris Rothenberg (son) relocates the operation to the Lower East Side in Manhattan.

• 1940’s
Morris son, Marvin joins the family business and decides to explore new markets.

• 1950
Marvin arrives in Puerto Rico and establishes a small warehouse in Santurce. Under his direction, the company expands from a used clothing operation to a government surplus wholesale business distributing Army & Navy products.

• 1960-1970
Rothco expands its wholesale operation by catering to retailers that were growing steadily in Puerto Rico and the Caribbean.

• 1980
Morris Rothenberg (grandson) joins the company after graduating from University.

• 1983
Rothco establishes a Sports Division and names it Rothco Sports.

• 1987
Marvin Rothenberg passed away and Morris becomes President of the company.

• 1992
The company moves into a 16,000 square foot warehouse facility in Amelia Distribution Center located in Guaynabo, Puerto Rico.

• 2001
A retail sports concept is created by Rothco Sports catering the high-end sports market. It is named MVP Sports.
